Cape Winelands residents respond to Tobacco Control Bill

# Residents of the Cape Winelands District say the proposed Tobacco Products and Electronic Delivery Systems Control Bill has potential to negatively impact on the economy, as the tobacco industry is a significant employer. During public hearings conducted by the Portfolio Committee on Health in Ceres’s Town Hall, some residents argued that the Bill infringes on individuals’ rights to make informed health decisions and called for thorough research before finalising the Bill.
