# The City of Cape Town says teaching learners about all aspects of road safety is important. Since July 2024, the metro’s Traffic Services Department’s Road Safety Education section has hosted one-thousand-363 road safety lectures and conducted more than three-thousand scholar patrol visits. Mayoral committee member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, says more than 40 Grade 2 learners from Christel House in Ottery visited the Hillstar Junior Traffic Training Centre this week to get a better understanding of the basic road rules:
