Cape Town mayor welcomes plan for more metro policing powers [SOUND]

# Cape Town mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis has welcomed plans to expand criminal investigative powers for municipal law enforcement by amending the South African Police Service Act. Over the next three years, the city is investing a further 81-million-rand in vehicles and 57-million-rand to equip vehicles with dashcams. Hill-Lewis says expanding the powers of municipal law enforcement to investigate crime is a simple way to immediately help police fight crime and gain more convictions:
