# The relatives of six Canadians who died in a plane crash in Iran were awarded damages by a Canadian court. All 176 people on board a plane of Ukraine International Airlines were killed when the plane was hit by two missiles shortly after taking off from Tehran in 2020. Fifty-five Canadians and 35 permanent residents of the country were among the victims. The court in Ontario awarded 1.3-billion-rand plus interest to the relatives, but Sky News reports it’s not yet clear how the money would be collected from Iran.
