# The City of Tshwane has commended the swift response from Metro Police officers after community members of Soshanguve South extension four reported ongoing trench digging, where city cables were being stolen. The TMPD immediately deployed its cable theft unit into the area for an investigation. The city’s Section 79 Oversight Committee for Community Safety chairperson, Thabang Sebotsane, says upon arrival in the area, they were met with gunshots coming from the trench diggers:
