# The final resting place of the late Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu will be in a public place beneath the St. George’s Cathedral. Speaking to the media the Dean of St. George’s Cathedral, Michael Weeder says the Arch chose to follow the decision made by anti-apartheid activist Archbishop Geoffrey Clayton in the 1950’s who insisted not to be buried in what he termed as apartheid graves. Tutu’s funeral will take place on Saturday, the 1st of January from 10 am:
