# ActionSA in the Western Cape has welcomed the approval of a 300-bed Safe-Space Homeless Shelter in Cape Town. The Safe Space will operate on municipal depot land on Ebenezer Road, Green Point and should start operating early next year. ActionSA’s, Michelle Wasserman, says the harsh and inhospitable conditions that define street life demand dignified government intervention. She adds that there is an urgent and continuous need for a compassionate effort to provide safe shelter for the city’s homeless population:
