Accountability Now asserts continued pursuit of Markus Jooste’s estate despite death

# Civil society organisation, Accountability Now, affirms the Financial Sector Conduct Authority has the ability to pursue claims against the estate of deceased former Steinhoff CEO, Markus Jooste. This follows the authority’s stance that the ongoing investigation into Steinhoff remains unaffected by his death. Jooste, who fatally shot himself after being fined 475-million-rand, leaves behind an estate subject to potential recovery efforts. Director Paul Hoffman emphasises that justice persists post death, with efforts underway to settle Jooste’s affairs and recovering the imposed fine.
