# AfriForum has welcomed the life sentences and an additional 71 years imprisonment handed down by the Evander Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga, to three men for the 2022 attack on a Leandra farm. The trio, found guilty of 17 charges including robbery and assault, attacked a woman and her domestic worker under the pretense of purchasing livestock. AfriForum’s Jacques Broodryk emphasised that such crimes threaten food security and rural livelihoods:
