# The Tshwane Metro Police Department Cable Theft Unit has arrested 12 suspects after responding to complaints of cable theft in the area. Four individuals were apprehended after a shootout with the unit in Soshanguve, Extension 4, north of Pretoria. This led to the subsequent arrest of eight more suspects. Charges include tampering and damaging essential infrastructure and possession of stolen copper. One suspect also faces charges as an illegal immigrant. The suspects are set to appear in court soon.
